A suicide free church

Your church can be a safe place to fall apart.

Most churches don't lack compassion. They lack training. SoulSafe Collective equips church staff and lead volunteers to meet the mental health epidemic with skill, courage, and the hope of Jesus Christ — so no one has to fight for their life alone.

The gap

The problem isn't that the Church doesn't care.

It's that caring was never the same thing as being equipped.

Pastors and volunteers are meeting the most anxious, most depressed congregations in living memory — and most were never trained for a single minute of it. So the conversation gets handed off. I'm praying for you. Are you in therapy? And the person who finally worked up the courage to speak walks back out alone.

Suicide is the only cause of death that is one hundred percent preventable. Closing this gap is not optional work. It is the work.

"I served on church teams 30 to 40 hours a week. When I finally opened up about my struggle to the people I thought were my closest support, I watched every one of them pull away." Grace Dunlap, Founder

What we do

We train the people who carry everyone else.

Five pieces, built to work together. Not another item on a pastor's list — a team standing underneath it.

01

Suicide prevention training

Curriculum that teaches your team exactly what to do when someone in front of them is actively suicidal — what to say, what not to say, and the steps that follow.

02

Counselor partnership research

We help you find trusted Christian counselors in your area willing to offer your congregation affordable, accessible care.

03

Monthly group sessions

Ninety minutes each month with our team and other church leaders in the program — to connect, pray, review, and troubleshoot in real time.

04

A national community

Access to a private network of churches chasing the same thing. You will not be the only one in your state doing this.

05

A dedicated prayer team

Confidential prayer and support for your staff — because the people holding the rope need someone holding theirs.

And at the end: certification.

Your church is listed publicly as a SoulSafe Certified church, so someone in crisis can find you before it's too late.

Clarity

What SoulSafe is — and what it isn't.

We would rather be clear than be for everyone.

This is

  • Training for church staff and lead volunteers — the people who pour into those in crisis
  • Rooted in the belief that full healing comes through Jesus Christ
  • Informed by mental health professionals, not a substitute for them
  • Built for churches of every size, budget, and denomination
  • For every age — whether someone is 10 or 100

This isn't

  • Crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, we will point you to immediate help — that is not what this program is
  • Clinical care, therapy, or a replacement for a licensed counselor
  • A program for secular organizations or other faith traditions
  • One more binder that sits on a shelf

Certification means a church's staff and lead volunteers have completed SoulSafe training. It is not a clinical endorsement. If you are in immediate danger, call or text 988.
